About Me

I am originally from Ontario, but my family moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia in 2012. I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, country music, puzzles, Marvel comics, trying new foods, and international travel. My first year of university was general studies at the University of Victoria. The fit was not perfect for me there and I was not interested in many of my classes. I spent most of my time in and out of class day dreaming about travelling and planning different vacations. Nearing the end of the school year I decided to apply and transfer to the Business Tourism Management program at Thompson Rivers University. This transition has been one of the best academic decisions I have made because the classes actually spark my interests now.

The purpose of this ePortfolio is to provide a simple and accessible way for anybody to get to know a little bit about me.  This site will express my knowledge, skills, and favourites parts of the tourism industry and why they are attractive. I am a cultural explorer raised in a family of free spirited adventurers.

The photo above is taken at Maligne Lake outside Jasper, Alberta. The islands in the middle is called Spirit Island and I was just in the middle of climbing around on the rocks when it was taken. This relates to my travel types because I got to wander around and explore at my own pace, as well as got a history lesson about why the island is considered spiritual. Most of my favourite trips revolve around being near a body of water and Maligne Lake did not disappoint in any way.
